Hinewbie here, I have just purchased 4x4 Adventure in white, pick it up Tuesday.
1st outing to Scotland, plenty of time to get use to each other.
Any other Adventure owners out there.

Hi there,

Sure is; me! Mine is a French one (that's where I live), white with black roof - had it 6 months now, nothing but good things to report!

Hope you like it too!

The French Adventure has a slightly different option spec to the UK one - Sat nav is not standard. I didn't want one either - 2 reasons - 1. The screen is in a very unsuitable place for route guidance. 2. I have a Garmin which is better, cheaper and I can put it where I want it and update the maps for free. :)

I think there is mixed opinion on the integrated sat nav, would be interested to see how you like it.

Hi Gramps,
If you want a built in satnav unit speak to your local Skoda dealer. I was quoted £1000 to supply and fit a kenwood unit to my Elegance 4 x4. This unit is virtually identical I was assured to the factory fit unit but £500 less.

I love my integrated sat-nav but I do find the position of the unit is a little low. This appears to be the case in all Skoda cars. Having said that, the directions are displayed on the maxi-dot display anyway and that's right in front of me.

All manufacturers charge an extortionate amount for built-in sat navs but as mine was part of the deal I don't mind...

There's also the matter of the cost and availability of updates, my Tom Tom gets four new maps a year (Uk and Europe) for £30. Some of the newer models are advertised as having free updates for life but that may not be what it appears.

I agree the position of the SatNav screen is way too low. I got short legs so I have to sit relatively near the steering wheel, which I guess makes the problem worse. I see the revamped Yeti has left the SatNav position untouched which is great pity. I feel it mars an otherwise pretty decent car. True the Maxdot is better placed, but its not the same, and I prefer to keep that for other information. The SatNav is probably still worth having (as it came as standard on my SE plus) as it does intergrate my mobile phone and good for displaying what music track is being played.

I just come back from 2 weeks in France and SatNav was reasonable. Best thing was I didn't need to change maps (as I do with my Tom Tom) when I entered France. However when I input names of French towns it seemed to have a pretty limited library. Bizarrely it accepted Chenonceaux (just outside Tours), which is a small village (albeit famous for its chateau), but not Chateauroux which is marked as a large town on my AA overview map of France, and a major intersection! It also told me a road was closed when it wasn't although it looked like there had been recent work going on.

Does anybody know how the SatNav is updated? Assuming it is???

Only 4 sleeps left before I can get my Yeti, I can then sort out the pros and cons of intergrated sat nav, Ialso have a Tom Tom to fall back on if it all goes west.
I would also be interested to know how you update, and also what version I will be getting. When I collect new Yeti I will grill the salesman although I suspect they probably wont know either.

Welcome Gramps from a 4x4 Elegance with a 2 year old Tom Tom, no updates, which last month found our caravan site at La Ville Aux Dames, just outside Tours with no trouble at all!Enjoy your new car!

Interested to see the comments about the SatNav.

My Urban has it as standard with the Amundsen radio/satnav/phone integration unit, and I think it works well, not that I use it a a lot. I still believe in 'Mapnav', but find the maxi dot repitition of what is on the colour screen useful, and tend to use the voice comment to alert me to the next 'manoeuvre'.

I did ask my Dealer about map updates, and as I posted elsewhere, was told that downloads would be available, to put onto an SD card which could then be inserted into the convenient SD card slot on the left side of the screen, and then 'follow the instructions'.

I've had a quick look on line, but to date haven't found any updates, so perhaps there aren't any yet, or else I'm looking in the wrong place!

Hi there, I found this link to the sat nav update website. It looks fairly straightforward to download the updates. I haven't used it yet as I'm still waiting for my Yeti SE+ (delivery end of October).

There are some stories on the internet about non-manufacturer supplied updates knackering satnavs so take care...

That is an excellent find. A lot of people here will be grateful for that. They are using Skoda copyrighted images and trademarks so it is probably Skoda approved. They are owned by Nokia so they are legit. Enjoy your map updates!

My Yeti SE+2wd 2.0 tdi 110ps is due to be built next week (but when ordering, was quoted 31/10/13 as a provisional delivery date). Not sure about the actual delivery date now, given the build week. What SE+ are you getting btw?

Hi fastestlouigie, mines a 4wd 140 with a factory fit towbar. I ordered it at the end of August. Originally told it would be 12 week delivery. the dealer came back to me a couple of days later to give me a build date of 1st October & hoping to hand it over by the end of October.

Oooh, a posh one. It's good that yours is being brought forward. I think that they're gearing up for changing the factory set-ups for building the Facelift model that's coming out at the end of the year/start of next year. 'Seems ours will be some of the last "round foglight" Yetis to be built.
