Just had the second Cambelt Change carried out at my local independent Skoda Specialist (VASSTECH GARAGE SERVICES)
Our car is a 2012 Yeti 2.0 Tdi with 78,893 miles recorded. The first replacement along with the Water Pump was carried out by the same Garage in July 2017 at 41,158 miles at a cost of £350. (I did negotiate a good deal on the labour as only 1. 1/4 hours labour was charged)
Last week's bill came to £587 including replacement of the Auxiliary Belt.
It would appear that there has been a big increase in the parts cost as the current cost for the Cambelt Kit is now £268.20. compared to £203.58 five years ago.

I would say the kit prices you paid were full retail,and with an average price rise of 5.6% a year,(far more than incomes),when dealing with a garage it’s not always easy to supply your own parts,as they like to make their extra profit.TPS have usually given me substantial discounts on the genuine cam belt kits,about 40% I recall,and there are many on eBay now between £100-£200.
