BMW drivers often need to be reminded that many of their cars frequently come equipped with a turn signalling device called i n d i c a t o r s ! Not many know this device exists on their cars.I think it's a peculiarly british thing to not read the manual .... 'twas only when the battery failed that I found I'd got a heated front screen despite there being a switch for it on the console ...... I mean I've owned cars for a very long time - steering wheel ? check, brakes ? check, gearstick ? check , fuel filler ? check, what else do you need ?
I agree Hoodie - clever indeed, like so many Gizmos, but in the old days I managed with none of them. I like KESSY and the EHB, but the various displays showing how green the current journey has been, or a clever graphic showing an outline of the car with how much range is left in the tank, or even a rather dim magnetic boot torch - why? The displays are distracting and after a couple of views I didn't look again. As for Mrs J fixing her lippy in the dark, I haven't checked how bright the light is, so tomorrow evening I'll sit in the garage to adjust my mascara before joining a virtual Goth Zoom session.Clever but is it really needed? Are cars getting like phones, adding gimmicks to try and make people "upgrade", if you were driving down a twisty unlit road and Mrs J used the vanity mirror would the car be filled with light?
