The indicator repeater in the drivers mirror was only partly working, so I tackled a replacement using the cheapest nastiest part I could find on Ebay, mostly because I was uncertain about what was actually the correct fitment :)

Glass removal looked to be the least appealing part of the process because it seems you need to lever it towards you until it 'just pops off'. To me that sounds like 'explodes in your face and clatters to the drive'...

But with a couple of plastic trim removal tools (definitely not bicycle tyre levers) and a bit of string poked in around the edge and pulled tight, it wasn't too difficult to apply gently pressure and encourage the glass bit off.

A couple of small Torx hold the light assembly in place.

And after a bit of general wiggling, the old one came off. The plug for the electrics is really small and very reluctant to unlock, so beware!

The new unit was marked thusly and it's lights worked first time when tested ! :)

After a few mins attempting to get the new on in place, I was having difficulty getting everything to line up nicely, so I elected to dismantle further and remove the top shell of the mirror.

Caution, don't try this outside on a cold day. The b45tard clips (sometimes referred to as 'trim' clips) that hold the top bit on are not keen on disengaging so needed a fair bit more force that felt comfortable, but in the end they did submit without breaking and off it came.

With the top off, it was a lot easier to get the light assembly fitted and screwed in place, before the top snapped back on.

Um, that's about it really !
