Hi
As seasoned campers we have seen pictures of a Yeti with a roof Tentbox and are considering getting one. Has anybody experience of doing this and if so would you recommend it or do you have any comments on vehicle handling, petrol consumption, interior noise etc? We wondered about the overhang at the front given that it has to be placed quite forward due to the position of the aerial.

I think i would rather sleep in side the car than have to get up there.
If not set a tent on floor.

Have a look on some of the Land Rover forums as plenty of Defender/Discovery owners have them fitted. Try Defedner2.net

Also, hannibalsafari.com, treckoverland.com

Only if the extra altitude would help to keep the wee midges out perhaps? :D

I know someone who has one on an LR 110, and he says that it needs firm suspension otherwise they rock around a lot.

You could probably get a decent used trailer tent for that much money. Easier to store and more fuel efficient than a caravan. Not equal to a caravan but better than a shelf on a car roof.
