Am I right to think they are airbag compatible plbxr?
I also just wanted some for when we are wet after walking, so wanted slip on/off type as most of the time the car is a commuting vehicle and I like the leather seats.

The website claims they are airbag compatible with a "rip seam" along the side. I wonder how a rip seam is constructed, and how it is strong enough to survive wear and tear, but also delicate enough to part when the airbag goes off.

Yes Ferdie they are airbag compatible. It was the first thing I considered when I purchased them. If they weren't then they would be deemed illegal and the vehicle to be certified unroadworthy. Here in Oz it is illegal to interfere with airbag functionality, not even a push-button to cancel the front passenger airbag like some models have.
Is this the sort of cover you were looking for?

I'm going to look at these http://www.carseatcoversonline.co.uk/ as they are a local business n look good on their website! I want a waterproof cover so when we all get in wet or muddy after hiking, the seats don't get ruined .... but at the same time not sitting on something that's going to make me sweat!

Did you order these?

If so,which type, and how do you rate them?

Regards,

Steve.

Got the custom fit ones in black waterproof material (think nylon cordura like laptop cases n holdalls but much finer) - very expensive but seem very tough and hard wearing but only time will tell.
I can't find them on the website but if you email them, they will send a catalogue out - or do as I did and visit them, really friendly company
Picking Yeti up on Wednesday so will be able to say about fitting better then.
They also do boot liners now but got mine from http://www.hatchbag.co.uk.

Both local companies which I prefer dealing withEdited by: Bill_cbf1000
