]Just a quick question. The other morning at 6am a little icon appeared on dash.The outside temperature was 3 c.The icon was a snow flake with a single warning beep.Is this normal...

Yes it's quite normal. We get it happening here especially in the recent cold weather. It comes onwhen thetemperature measured by the sensor drops to4C or less.

It's a warning that the outside temp has reached the point where black ice may start to form on the road. This is because the road surface can be several degrees cooler in winter than the actual air temp.

Thanks to all for putting that one to bed.I told my youngest when she asked it was a warning that snow men could be crossing the road up a head......

It is all explained in there.

Oh, and it "bongs" when the temperature is below 4 degrees on start-up, or at any other time it drops to that temperature.
