18 days into my new purchase and the engine symbol appeared on the dash; I looked in the manual which stated Exhaust Inspection System. I've had the car diagnosed at Halfords. They reported back; Error code indicated No 3 glow plug, they have cleared the light and advised me to take the car back if the light re-appears. (not the relevant light on the dash, according to the manual).Anyone experienced this?

The lights on the dash each cover such a multitude of sins, the manual can only give very broad generalisations as what each might mean. I suspect the only valid interpretation of any "fault light" is to take the car to be plugged into a proper diagnostic point or laptop with diagnostic software. Several people in here, including The Hood, have an excellent software system called VCDS. My local independent Skoda specialist, where we bought our Yeti at 3 years old, uses the same system. Excellent it would appear to be. Tells you far, far more than trying to figure warning lights.

Don't think I have ever heard of a glowplug problem in the 7 years I've been involved with Yetis, and as Henry says a light on can mean many different things. Also seems to be confirmed by your comment about Halford's test procedure and the "relevant" light. From my experience they will have used a generic Fault Reader so will not get a proper report.

Where are you? (It does make life much easier if people at least state the county they are in, in their details here). There might be an independent with the right equipment to check properly nearby. Also if you have a warranty I would be asking them who they recommend.

After driving for a few days the light came back on. Halfords said it may likely happen on a cold day, which it did. I have since returned the vehicle to Halfords and they have replaced all four glowplugs. They said the issue was; the third plug being at fault due to not being able to draw enough current to heat the plug at start up. The light is now off and four days gone with no light on!
