Hello Tony , new member here. I just bought a 2013 Yeti 1.9 diesel 4 by 4. The handbook is mostly straightforward, but I remain a little unsure of the purpose of the two switches under the radio, one labelled "off road" the other "off"
I understand the Yeti 4 by 4 -unlike the RAV 4 we have just sold- operates progressively as and when needed, if the front wheels slip. I need do nothing to operate this system, but various lights will display on the dashboard if it operates.
However, in the case of light snow on the road where the tyres would cut through onto the surface below, do I need do anything with the " off road" button? Similarly, if the road had a proper covering of snow on it?
I am unlikely to take the car off road, other than a muddy field if parking for a country event. So do I just ignore the "off road" and "off" button, or will they have a usage with my sort of driving? Thanks for your help.
