GPS not working

Hi I have a 2012 Yeti SE Plus, and the GPS has decided to stop working. It seems to be completely lost, stuck in a position it last had somewhere in London. Any ideas on what the problem is, or how I can reset the system?
Thanks

Try disconnecting the battery for five minutes, then reconnect. That re-boots most things.
You will likely need to reset the time of day clock afterwards (good practice for the upcoming clock change anyway). Plus you may or may not find you need to reset the window closing for one-touch operation to work.

Or ...... someone may know a better way to reset the Sat Nav system on its own? Like pulling the relevant fuse perhaps?

Or ...... has it lost the signal from the GPS aerial by chance? I.E. fault at the aerial end?

Hi parnz62, sorry I can't help anymore than what Flintstone has suggested. Mine's a 2012 Yeti SE Plus and the Satnav decided to stop in the middle of a field up in Northumberland about 2 years ago.

Tried the re-boot with no joy, my independent garage, who is a VAG specialist, tried with his computer and said the only thing he couldn't read was the Satnav info......so suggested the Dealer. They wanted £90 just to book it in!!! and suggested it 'may' require a new system at £1000+...….so I've got a excellent TomTom for £100 which I share with the OH.

Hope yours is just a simple re-boot or similar to fix.

Hi parnz62,

As Urrell has mentioned it is often the aerial. This is sometimes caused by rain ingress. If this is just recent with all the rain you could try unscewing the aerial and seeing if the threads are wet. If so dry them and the inside of the screw hole with some paper towels and re-fit the aerial. It may not fix it but it's worth a try.

Has anyone made progress with this problem? Happened today with my 2013 Yeti near Bristol. Suddenly it thought we were in a field! Still does, though in other random locations. Can't compute my home destination. It has been raining for weeks - haven't tried unscrewing the aerial yet to dry it or disconnecting the battery but will update this thread if it works.
