For some reason my Yeti was missing the dog-bone pull down handle on the boot lid. After a bit of head scratching and trial and error I managed to fit the new one without unclipping any of the clips holding the interior trim in place and I only needed to remove the torque screw that holds the handle in place. If you lubricate the appropriate end of the new handle with silicone grease and soften the handle in a kettle of boiling water it is possible to insert the handle through the hole in the plastic trim and manoeuvre it into place so you can replace the torque screw.

Well done! When I replaced the pull-bone on my old Yeti in 2020, I was in quite a hurry. So chose the conventional route of unclipping the entire plastic interior trim panel then popping it back into place with the new bone inserted through it. That does risk breaking a couple of the clip retaining slots on the plastic panel though. So your method its superior. (y)

(P.S. I see "torx" headed screw us an unrecognised word in the forum dictionary. So it has changed your mention of the fastener design to "torque" in #1. I've corrected that in the Quote above and forced the forum's word policeman software to accept that. Hope you won't mind? :) )
